It will be difficult to understand and to believe, I know.
It took me three years to believe it and to understand, despite being in the front row, facing Léo.
Thank you to Jodie Fisher and Mark Hurd, as well as the HP Board.
Without them, I would still believe in Léo today, and the sequel to Leo Apotheker Beyond The Mirror would probably never have been released.

Behind the answer hide a few surprises…
A performance, yes; however not a noble one.
When my path crossed Léo’s once again in autumn of 2007,
after the unforgettable SAP France years (1995-1998),
I had in my mind the image of an efficient man, though not always easy in the context of human relations.
I never stopped to focus on this “minor” detail, as I was undoubtedly interested in his effectiveness.
I found myself in an SAP graveyard, in Canada, and I needed his help.
SAP Project Rescue… There is much to be done, but… it is forbidden territory.
There are those (such as Michael Krigsman) who observe, talk and write a great deal about wasted passions and failures; about the millions thrown out the window.
The last thing one should do is to throw themselves into the rescue of SAP horror stories!
It was my key mistake in 2003, then in 2007.
In Léo’s eyes, intelligence equates with danger. He cannot control intelligence. And he does not like losing control.
These troubled projects – there are too many of them – are not stuck in one place by coincidence…
These wasted millions that companies spend in the hope of making the SAP dream a reality, fall into the hands of the SAP Ecosystem. The cake has been sliced in advance, the guest list carefully prepared.
Millions… The only thing that matters to Léo Apotheker. HP has understood that.
In the SAP Ecosystem, everything has a price. Including the right to win millions.
Quality, who cares? It only gets in the way of things.
Léo is a two-dimensional person. The third dimension that he lacks is the most crucial one – the human dimension.
Léo is profoundly inhumane. Something he confirmed to me, in early October this year.
That man would sell human rights if he could. For a couple of millions.
The SAP Ecosystem… A structure invented for the sole purpose of controlling the flow of money and monitoring power.
The corrupted world of SAP. Léo’s global spiderweb, based on his network. But what is his network?
This is where it gets interesting. The secret lies beneath this.
Yes, it is Léo who built the SAP Empire from the ground up. And it was a real one-man show.
2009 is not the year bearing the weight of this history, but all the previous years.
Léo fell into his own trap in the end. Hence his departure from SAP in February 2010. There is a limit to everything, and the limit has been reached.
Léo, declared Knight of the Legion of Honor under the government of Nicolas Sarkozy. Some medals are clearly worthless.
“Honour” is a word that has lost its meaning.
As for HP, it clearly needs an… ecosystem. HP’s own, or perhaps… that of SAP.
Hasso’s Titanic needs a tugboat.
HP would rather borrow ready-to-wear than create its own collection…
I sincerely believed in Léo Apotheker, during all these years.
To the point that I remained by his side through his departure from SAP and his arrival at HP.
Which eventually allowed me to understand his hidden facets.
I must say, calling it a disappointment would be an understatement.
Despite recent events in October, everything that I have written so far remains partially valid. Not entirely. I will let you do the sorting yourself.

Ce sera difficile à comprendre et à y croire. Je sais.
Moi même, j’ai mis 3 ans, avant de comprendre et d’y croire, malgré le fait que j’étais au premier rang, en face de Léo.
Merci à Jodie Fisher et à Mark Hurd ainsi qu’à HP Board.
Sans eux, j’aurais continué à croire en Léo.
La suite de Léo Apotheker Beyond The Mirror n’aurait probablement jamais vu le jour.

La réponse cache quelques surprises…
Une performance, certes mais pas… noble.
Quand mon chemin a recroisé celui de Léo, en automne 2007,
après les inoubliables années de SAP France (1995-1998),
j’avais en tête l’image d’un homme très efficace,
quoique pas toujours facile dans les relations humaines.
Je ne me suis pas arrêtée sur ce dernier “détail”, intéressée clairement par son efficacité.
Je me trouvais dans un cimetière SAP (au Canada) et j’avais besoin de son aide.
La reprise de projets SAP mal engagés… Il y a de quoi faire, mais… il ne faut surtout pas. C’est un terrain interdit.
Il y en a (Michael Krigsman par exemple) qui observent, parlent, écrivent beaucoup sur le gâchis et les échecs, sur ces millions qui passent pas les fenêtres.
Il ne faut surtout pas se lancer dans le sauvetage de SAP horror stories !!
C’était ma principale erreur en 2003, puis en 2007.
L’intelligence est dangereuse aux yeux de Léo. Il ne la maîtrise pas. Et il n’aime perdre le contrôle.
Ces projets en difficulté, bien trop nombreux, ne sont pas mal au point par hasard…
Ces millions, que les entreprises dépensent pour espérer de transformer le rêve SAP en réalité, tombent dans les poches des intéressés (de l’écosystème SAP). Le gâteau a été prédécoupé à l’avance. Les invités soigneusement sélectionnés.
Des millions… La seule chose qui compte pour Léo Apotheker. HP a tout compris.
Dans l’écosystème SAP tout s’achète. Aussi les droits aux millions.
La qualité ? On s’en fout royalement. C’est un élément qui dérange.
Léo est une personne en 2D. La troisième dimension manque cruellement, la dimension humaine.
Léo est profondément inhumain.
Il me l’a finalement confirmé, lui-même, début octobre.
Il vendrait bien les droits de l’homme, s’il le pouvait. Pour quelques millions.
SAP Écosystème… Une structure inventée pour contrôler les flux d’argent et les pouvoirs.
Le monde corrompu de SAP. La toile d’araignée mondiale de Léo. Basée sur son réseau. C’est quoi son réseau ?
C’est là que cela devient intéressant. Tout le secret est là.
Oui, c’est bien Léo qui a construit l’empire SAP depuis ses débuts. Et c’était un vrai one-man show.
Ce n’est pas du tout l’année 2009 qui porte le poids de l’histoire. Ce sont toutes ces années passées.
Léo est finalement tombé dans le piège qu’il a construit lui-même. C’est pourquoi il a quitté la scène SAP en février 2010. Tout a une limite et la limite a été atteinte.
Léo Apotheker, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur… Du gouvernement de Nicolas Sarkozy. Il y a des médailles qui décidément ne valent rien.
L’honneur… Ce mot qui ne veut plus rien dire.
HP ? HP a clairement besoin d’un… écosystème. Propre à HP ou peut-être bien… celui de SAP.
Le Titanic de Hasso a besoin d’un remorqueur.
HP préfère emprunter du “prêt à porter” plutôt que de créer sa propre collection…
J’ai sincèrement cru en Léo Apotheker… Pendant toutes ces années.
Au point d’être restée à ses côtés après son départ de SAP et à son arrivée chez HP.
Ce qui m’a finalement permis de comprendre sa face cachée.
Je dois dire que la déception est énorme.
Malgré les événements d’octobre, tout ce que j’ai écrit jusqu’à présent reste partiellement valable. Mais pas complètement. Vous ferez le tri vous-même.
