Leo Apotheker Atherton 2011

I invited Leo Apotheker’s friends and enemies to join me on this human and literary adventure.

What are my expectations exactly?
Only one thing: Leo’s image, as you see it.
With the sole purpose of feeding my reflections.
I do not ask questions. I let you speak; you tell me only what you want to share, and how you wish to express it…

I have met with…
Leo’s fake friends, true enemies, pretty women…
A couple of spies…
Those who thought that I do not see anything, and those who suddenly realized that I see everything…
Those who stayed behind and those who walked away…
Those who have the courage and those who are afraid…
But also a handful of rare exceptions – positive ones. They will recognize themselves, I’m sure.

Given that Leo Apotheker’s life is a solitary journey across the desert, there is realistically no chance that I can count on his surroundings to contribute to my adventure…

To enemies of Leo – those who scorn him:
I tried to convince you that spite only destroys both parties.
You asked me – why contribute? And I answered – to grow.
That is not, however, included in your objectives. The choice is yours, and I respect that.

Friends of Leo…
All fakes.
He has no real friends.
If Leo had true friendships, he would not be sitting on the ruins of his life, and the world would feel much better.

Nonetheless, there are a select few who are true contributors…
Most of them do not, however, know Leo personally.
Which is perhaps exactly why they understand him better than his own surroundings.
They get it, because the factors that make Leo who he is are also a part of their own story.

Thank you to those who stayed, but also to those who merely passed by.
You are all writing the story of Leo Apotheker’s life; sometimes unaware, sometimes despite yourselves.
Thanks to you, I now have the certitude that this project could likely not have been successfully led by a man…

No man can write a good book if he does not accept his feminine side = creation. -Paulo Coelho
